While many of us dread meetings, the truth is that they can provide a simple and powerful way for you to improve your personal brand.
The next time you are scheduled to lead a meeting, practice these two steps to make the most of your time and everyone else’s:
1. Send out a request a couple of days in advance requesting any discussion items.
2. As the meeting begins, distribute an agenda.
I know. It seems simple, and that’s true. It is. And yet, far too many meetings happen where team members walk in unsure of what the goal of the meeting is. By sending an email out two days in advance and then clarifying what is to be accomplished with an agenda, you will not only help your team succeed, you will improve your personal brand in the process.
